Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre (QSRTC) QSTP LLC is a 100% owned subsidiary of Shell established in 2008 within Qatar’s first free zone formed by Qatar Foundation at Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP).  The centre’s purpose is Drive the State of Qatar and Shell forward in generating more and cleaner energy solutions through technical innovation and research excellence. ​QSRTC is an active member of Qatar’s innovation ecosystem and partners with multiple institutions in Qatar and abroad.



Dr. Lina Rueda is the R&D and Innovation Manager at Qatar Shell Research and Technology Center (QSRTC). As QSRTC is an active member of the Technology Team at Pearl GTL, her focus is to support Pearl GTL Energy Transition through innovative R&D.Dr. Rueda is originally from Colombia, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and worked in the local Oil and Gas industry before moving to the US to pursue her master’s degree and PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. After completing her PhD, Dr. Rueda joined a subsidiary of Rockwell Automation where she developed Advanced Process Control solutions for a variety of industries worldwide. She joined Shell Global Solutions in 2008 to support the Americas Downstream assets and moved to Deepwater in 2011. Prior to joining QSRTC in 2021, Dr. Rueda worked in multiple offshore projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago and Brazil, and served as the Global Deepwater Controls SME.
