Professor

Phaneendra joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in December 2008 as an Assistant professor in the supercomputer education and research centre. He currently works as a Professor of Department of Computational and Data Sciences and  leads leads TANUH: The AI-Centre of Excellence in Healthcare funded by Ministry of Education at IISc. Prior to this, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Division of Medical Physics, Department of Radiation Oncology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, USA. He received Ph.D. in biomedical computation from the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College, USA, in 2007. He is the convener of Medical Imaging Group (MIG). He also leads TANUH: AI-Centre of Excellence in Healthcare at IISc.

Dr. Saurabh Sharma,  Ph.D. (IIT, Patna)


Saurabh joined the group as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in June 2025. Previously, he was a PhD Scholar and Prime Minister’s Research Fellow (PMRF) at the Data Analytics & Network Science (DANeS) Lab, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna. Prior to his doctoral studies, he earned his Integrated Post Graduate (B.Tech. + M.Tech.) degree from Atal Bihari Vajpayee-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM), Gwalior. At MIG, his research focuses on developing foundation models for medical image segmentation in federated learning environments.


Dr. Shreya Srivastava,  Ph.D. (IIT, Roorkee)


Shreya joined the group as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in May 2025. She received her Ph.D. in November 2024 from IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Before that, she completed M.Tech. and B.Tech. from G.B. Pant Engineering College, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, and Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, respectively. At MIG, she works on Radiomics and applied AI for healthcare.

Dr. Vaishnavi Ravi,  Ph.D. (IIT, Tirupati)


Vaishnavi joined the group as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in July 2024. Earlier, she was a PhD Scholar at the Visual Information and Signal Analysis Lab (VISAL) in the Electrical Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati. Before joining IIT Tirupati, she completed M.Tech. and B.Tech. from Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT-DRDO), Pune and SASTRA University, Thanjavur respectively. At MIG, she works on radiomics for oncology.

Rohit Pardasani,  M.Tech. (IISc, Bangalore)

ERP Ph.D. Student

Rohit works as a Staff Data Scientist, in Wipro-GE Healthcare, Bangalore as part of the Patient Care Solutions (PCS) Group. He completed M.Tech. in Computational and Data Science from IISc, Bangalore in 2019 and was awarded GE Healthcare Fellowship during the M.Tech. program. He is an external registration program Ph.D. student of the group, started with MIG in August 2024. He also received B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee in 2008.


Sejal Maisheri,  M.Sc. (M. S. University of Baroda)

IMI Ph.D. Student

Sejal joined the group as a Ph.D. student of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences (IMI) in August 2024. She completed M.Sc. in Mathematics from M. S. Univeristy of Baroda in June 2024. She is co-advised by Prof. Ambedkar Dukkipati (CSA). She has been awarded Axis Bank Ph.D. fellowship for the year 2024.

Saisree joined the group as a direct Ph.D. student in August 2024. She completed B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad in July 2024.

IMI Ph.D. Student

Lakshmi Priyaa joined the group as a Ph.D. student of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences (IMI) in August 2025. She completed her Integrated Masters in Mathematics from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore in June 2024. She is co-advised by Prof. Ambedkar Dukkipatti (CSA). She was awarded the Kotak Shiksha Nidhi scholarship for her Masters (academic years 2022–2023 and 2023–2024) and has been awarded the Axis Bank Ph.D. fellowship for 2025.

Nidhi joined the group as a M.Tech. student in Jan 2025. Before joining the M.Tech. (Computational and Data Science) program in August 2024, she worked as a Senior Engineer at Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad. She has been awarded the Wells Fargo M.Tech. Fellowship for the year 2024. She completed her B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Srinagar, J&K in 2015.
