Low-field pediatric brain magnetic resonance Image Segmentation and quality Assurance challenge (LISA) 2024, presented at MICCAI 2024, focussed on objective quality assurance of low-field pediatric MR images acquired at 0.064T Hyperfine SWOOP scanners, and segmentation of bilateral hippocampi, a crucial structure linked with cognitive and memory functions often implicated in abnormal neurodevelopment. Among 35 submissions from 10 countries across 4 continents, Dr. Vaanathi Sundaresan, in collaboration with research group from the University of Oxford, topped the challenge by developing a deep learning-based method for the quality assurance task.
