Pon Deepika, Ghanshyam Dhamat, Pratyaksh Tandon, Ashutosh Kumar, and Sandeep Kumar from the Biomedical Image Analysis (BioMedIA) Lab, CDS, have been awarded the Novelty Track Prize at the MedGemma Impact Challenge. Hosted by Google Research on Kaggle, the team outperformed over 850+ entries worldwide.
The team’s submission, UniRad3s, is an end-to-end AI-assisted pipeline showcasing what an AI integrated future of radiology could look like keeping clinical judgement at the center. The framework is built on three structured pillars: * Spot: Anomaly detection and patient prioritization powered by a LoRA-finetuned MedSigLIP. * Segment: High-precision anomaly delineation by MedSAM2 driven by MedSigLIP. * Simplify: Automated clinical report generation and grounded patient summaries enabled by MedGemma.
