IISc and Aster CMI hospital launched an artificial intelligence lab on 18 March. This lab is spearheaded by Prof. Phaneendra K. Yalavarthy. 

Prof. R. Venkatesh Babu has been conferred with Prof. Satish Dhawan Young Engineers State Award 2019 by the Government of Karnataka. Animesh Baranawal and Varad Kulkarni, research students from the DREAM:Lab, have won the Best Poster award at the IEEE HiPC Student Research Symposium 2021 for their work titled “ICM++: Enhancing the Execution Model for Interval-centric Distributed Graph Computation”.
